eBook Embargo

eBook Embargo

Starting November 1, publishers including Macmillan Publisher will limit libraries to when or how many copies of a new eBook or eAudiobook title libraries are allowed to purchase.

What does this mean for you? Limiting access to new titles for libraries is limiting access for readers like you. The decision is based on the premise that public libraries undercut publishers’ profits by providing free access to eBooks.

What can you do? Let your voice be heard. Join the hundreds of thousands of readers who have added their names to a petition launched by the American Library Association at eBooksForAll.org.
