Opening Day: December 14, 2006
The new Library is conveniently located near area schools and the Green Valley Crossing Shopping Center in Cordelia. The address is 5050 Business Center Drive. The 15,600 square-foot Library is located on the first floor of a two story building adjacent to the Solano County Department of Education Office building.
The Library features: a new collection of books, movies and music for adults, teens, and children, express check out machines, walk-in use of computers, self-placed holds on books and materials, 40 public access computers, Wi-Fi for customers with laptops, comfortable seating and study carrels.
The library houses a career center with college, scholarship and trade school information and resources, plus the Computer Center loaded with learning software. The Meeting Room, equipped with state-of-the art electronic technology, is ideally situated for library or school-sponsored educational and literacy training as well as community meetings.
In the finest tradition of library service, staff aims to provide both quick and efficient service for those on the run, and the warmth of a beautiful neighborhood center for study, recreational reading and life-long learning.
The Fairfield Cordelia Library is the result of a collaborative partnership between Solano County, the City of Fairfield, the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District, and the State of California Office of Library Construction.
