Solano County Library is a progressive and innovative library with secure funding and widespread support from the community. In 1998, a sales tax dedicated exclusively to libraries, was passed with over a two-thirds majority. In June of 2012, the sales tax was continued with an 80% majority vote.
Solano County is an ethnically diverse community in a rural and suburban area near San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, the Napa Valley, the state capitol and a number of top-tier academic institutions.
