LIBRARY OFFERS MUSEUM PASSES WITH “DISCOVER AND GO”
Solano residents now have access to free and low cost museum passes that can be downloaded and printed from their home computers. “The passes are a great low-cost way for families to do something together. They are also a way for us to share our unique Bay Area environment with visitors,” said Ann Miller, the Library’s community relations coordinator.
Anyone with a library card can find the passes on the Programs page of www.solanolibrary.com. The passes range from family passes like the ones for Walnut Creek’s Lindsay Wildlife Museum to group discounts for the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Local museums are also getting into the act, the Vallejo Naval and Historical Museum offers free admission for up to five adults in a family (children under twelve are always free). The passes are printed at home, no pickup or return is necessary. “The Library has always been a place for inspiration and education. The museum passes extend that inspiration and education beyond library walls,” said Miller.
Discover and Go is made possible through a partnership with the Contra Costa County Public Library. Participating museums determine the amount of discounts and the number of passes they make available. A full list of Frequently Asked Questions is also available on the www.solanolibrary.com.
