Digital Photography Contest Celebrating Teen Tech Week with Solano County Library

 

Want to be a famous teen photographer? Submit your best photos to the Teen Photography Contest 2019.

 

Submit to TeenTechSolano@gmail.com or on Instagram use #TeenTechSolano2019. Contest runs January 1-February 15, 2019.

 

During Teen Tech Week, March 3-9, 10 winning photos will be featured on the Solano County Library homepage and elsewhere in the community. Entries will be posted to the library’s Facebook and Instagram account.

  • You must be 12 – 18 years old and submit only your own work

    • Only local participants are eligible to win prizes.

  • Limit: 1 photo per category
     

  • All photos are subject to verification, and images may be used or altered by Solano County Library for promotional purposes
     

  • Submit by email (preferred): TeenTechSolano@gmail.com
     

  • Include your name, city, and photo category. Include a description of your photo.

  • Submit through Instagram using #TeenTechSolano2019 and mention @SolanoLibrary in the text
     

    • Include your name, city and photo category
       

    • Set your privacy settings to allow @solanolibrary to see your submissions
       

    • Follow the library @solanolibrary on Instagram
       

  • All entries must be received by February 15 at 9pm

Categories

 

 

One winning photo will be chosen per category.

 

 

  1. Abstract- Essence over reality approach to focusing on shape, form, color, pattern, and texture

  2. Animals- Furry friends and wild creatures (Pro tip: books + cats= purrfection

  3. Black & White/Shadows- Contrasting light and shadow

  4. Landscapes – a bigger view of our world.

  5. Macro/Close-ups – Taking an extremely close look at the world around you.

  6. Nature – Plants, scenery, natural settings.

  7. People/Portraits – Individuals or groups of people.

  8. Special Effects – Photoshop, VSCO, or any other enhanced or edited photos, memes, or images.

  9. Urban- Objects and elements in city landscapes

  10. Your Choice – Any photo you're proud of that doesn't fit in the other categories.

 

You must submit your own original artwork and submit it in .jpg format.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Win

 

 

Winning photos should best represent the library and its values of exploration, inspiration, growth, and discovery.

 

 

  • 2 grand prize to spend one session learning from a local photographer.
    An adult chaperone is required to collect the grand prize.
     

  • An enlarged and mounted print of your winning photo (winners must be able to pick up prints at a Solano County Library)
     

  • Grand Prize photo may be used to promote library events
     

  • All 10 winning photos will be featured on solanolibrary.com and the library’s social media accounts on Flickr, Instagram, and Facebook.
     

  • All 10 winning photos will be displayed in our Solano County libraries
     

  • Only local participants are eligible for prizes.
